The news is breaking across the internet at the moment - the movie is being made of “Legend of Zelda”. While checking the story out, I tracked down the actor who is playing Link - JR Killigrew…
If that isn’t perfect casting, I don’t know what is.
The Zelda games are one of the longest running and most successful of any series in video game history - starting out with “The Legend of Zelda” on the Famicom, or Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) way back in 1986. The most recent episode, “Twilight Princess” was a launch title for the Nintendo Wii.
Given the rich storylines, likeable characters, rolling landscapes and wonderful music from the video games, perhaps we may finally see a movie based on a game that isn’t terrible.
The trailer below represents a very early cut of the movie - now 2 years old - with it not being released until 2009…
